To Town Again I Go

The Government doesn’t have their systems set up right so my trip into town last Friday was a waste of time IMO. It meant I had to go back today. Was mulling how to get there, since parking is always tight. I visualized the route in my head and thought “that’s not far….I can walk!” Suited up in my tracksuit bottom, red T-shirt and red knapsack and off I went. I ignored the fact that it was after 10 a.m. and the sun was HOT, HOT, HOT! I needed a tan anyway, because remarkably, I have not been to the beach not even once in the three weeks since I have been back! [*note to Self: fix that immediately!]. I didn’t recall seeing any dogs in my past drives, nor any madmen, so everything was good to go.

My road is flat and so is the one which veers off it. Along the way, I was taking in the sights, you know, the things that wiz by when you’re driving. These were the two photos I took on opposite sides of the street.

Turned on to the official town road. My goodness….. what a lot of law offices! The whole street is lined with them. These yellow offices are very attractive. And the pic beside it is the road that it’s on. You have to be a skillful driver to manoeuvre  these roads.

At the Government office, the process was swift. I looked around and observed that there is so much paper! And like in probably most Government offices in the English speaking Caribbean, they have those files. You know, the ones with the green string through it. Was about to take a photo but then the phone camera would have made a noise. The office was airconditioned and it was a welcomed respite from the heat.

I had started the stopwatch when I left home and now it had 23 minutes on it. But I had stopped to stretch and also to take some photos so minus about 3 minutes.

Below are the photos taken on the way back home.

I have to go back on Thursday. I think I’ll do this walk again and see if I notice more new things. Good way to get exercise.
