Gym episode 20/03: Last chance workout…on my own

Damion Daniel was unavailable to train me on Sunday. Although I was accustomed to working out on my own all these years, I have come to rely on him pushing me to, as he told me, where my body has never gone before. Let’s see what I could put together for this “last chance workout,” still under his watchful eye as he was in the gym.

Created a skyscraper in my 11 minute bike warmup, while my Trainer was working his quads with some massive weights. Mercy!

Next was some circuit high intensity interval training for full body. Did 3 sets of 4 exercises for shoulders and arms with cardio after each set. The cardio sprints I chose were 2 minutes on spin bike, 1 minute skipping and some “suicides.” Before I started working with Damion, I’d do 2 sets. One day as we were about to do the 3rd set I asked him why we couldn’t do just 2. ” Two sets is for beginners.” Well mi definitely not no beginner. Damn skippy! 👍😎

Next were lower body compound moves e.g. squats with lateral raises.

By the time I was done, Damion had left so I could have left out the dreaded treadmill.

But I recall what he always says…”don’t cheat yourself.” So, being the good student, I hopped on and did a good 11 minutes. Probably didn’t stay on the 15% incline for as long as Damion would have liked.

End of the 40 day challenge. Have I done enough to win? I entered in two places – at the gym and at work. Later in the evening when I had updated Damion on my workout, he reminded me to weigh in in the morning.
