Things happen in life to test your patience, your resilience and generally show you what you are made of.
I came back to Grenada last Saturday (should have come on Friday but Air Ja cancelled the flight) and was not able to off load my suitcase in my flat. When I opened the door, this is what greeted me...

What the..............?
I've had flooding before. It's usually in the Kitchen. That was also flooded, but not completely. I looked through to the bedroom, and this shocked me...

Fortunately, I was scheduled to work that night and sleep in the hotel, in fact for three nights, so that was good. But even if I wasn't scheduled to work, I could have slept in the hotel.
Anyway, Sunday morning, I borrowed the wet vac and sucked out the water bit by bit, then mopped and mopped and mopped. If it was just water, it wouldn't be so bad, but with the mud, which had by now dried in other parts of the flat which were not so flooded, that was hard going.
I worked from 9:30am until about 6:30pm, taking a break for lunch. The man who looks after the house came to help for about 1.5 hours. There was heavy rains last week, everywhere was flooded. For my situation, apparently the drains where the water would have run was blocked so the water didnt have any where to go and found under my door to be a good place. I saw the mark of how high it reached. I would estimate about 8 - 9 inches.
Definitely a test of resilience.
