I went to a doctor cum nutritionist today. The cardiologist had recommended I see him. You do know I'm obese don't you? Well you haven't been paying attention to my blog for very long then if you don't.
In May, the cardiologist was doing my history and the discussion comes around to life, companionship etc. The panicky issue had come up so this was a feeder from that issue. The doctor asked me about husband and essentially asked why I don't have one and perhaps that would make me less panicky/anxious. He had no doubt read Kelly's cure for me in response to one of the panicky/anxious entries.
Today, I wondered if it was a feature of the institute.
The discussion today comes around to me, living in the Spice Isle. Then the doc says "and what about your husband" or some such thing like that. I explain (proudly) that I am single. His reponse? "So how is that working for you?" then goes on to say that there is no better feeling that having someone to share your life with. I was about to pipe up about getting a dog (oh, but wait....isnt that the same thing as a man????....sorry men!) but then I couldn't bother to explain. So I just said "it's working quite well. Let's get back to me being obese."
I must have something written on my forehead I swear. But I never think it is that they are being suggestive with me. I find it all very hilarious.
Posted by yamfoot at July 1, 2008 11:53 PMYou're not alone. Years ago I saw a doctor and told him I was feeling exhausted all the time. He basically said I was anxious/depressed and that getting married would cure that. Told me it worked for him when he was in his thirties. (Probably because his wife took over all the cooking, cleaning and laundry.)
Posted by: Carol Laz at July 2, 2008 09:20 AMvery funny!!!! We women need wives to cook and clean for us.....definitely less stress!
