Tragedy in the Spice Isle

In the wee hours of this morning, while I was wrapped up in my comfortable bed, a mother of one was losing her life because of the idiocy and irresponsible behaviour of an 18 year old.

Police signalled the driver of a car to stop at about 1:30am. It was coming off a road called 'the lane' which has an incline. It was also speeding.

The next thing, Ms Scott, who was in her bed sleeping, was transitioning this life because the driver lost control of the vehicle and crashed straight into her bedroom and landed on her bed, on top of her.

I understand that the driver was in hospital. He may have died, but not sure. He had two other passengers in the car. None had a valid drivers' licence it was reported.

The mother of the driver, understandably, was quite distraught. Can't blame her. But could she have prevented the type of behaviour exhibited by her son which ended the life of Ms Scott in such a bizare manner?

Hey,

My opinion on this is there is nothing the "Mother" of the irresponsible 18yr old could do. Why? It's simple in logic but difficult to understand or transfer in actions. I for one has always had the philosophy that an individual with enough intellect and understanding in relation to the level of maturity is responsible for everything done by them.

Everything done by an individual is based on an entity called "Choice". Choices are based and influenced experiences, learnt behaviors or observations.

Parent(s) will decide to train a child on whatever their principles they believe in, whether it's religious or non-religious, it wouldn't matter. It eventually will be incumbent on the child to intelligently utilize the lessons based on situations.

I an almost sure the 18yr old mother didn't say to her child to drive the car into the woman's house. No, the child did what he thought was okay, but realized the dire consequences. The mother didn't commit it, it's the child. He should pay the consequences.

Suffice to say. It all depends on the individuals choice inwhich are always based on experiences, learnt behaviors or observations.

As the saying goes, "Speed Kills", if not the driver, then some other innocent person.

That's terrible. A woman dying because a kid wanted a thrill.

Oh No! Terrible, terrible.

How tragic..and to think that she thought she was safe and sound in her own bed. It always is that the irresponsible drivers come out alive and the innocent are the one being killed.
