The deaths have started....

I always knew that sometime soon, parents of my friends would start to pass away. This past week there were two

Adwoa's father passed on, and so did LMT/Poor but Polite's. Both post on here occasionally.

Of course, it starts me thinking again "how many more years do I have my parents for?"

Longevity is in the genes. My mother's mother died at 91, and my father's mother at 88 or thereabouts. The parents are in their 60's now, so I am figuring another 20 years or so. I'm going to make the most of that time. Life....we don't know where it is going to take us.

I wish plenty more time (healthy time too) for them. :-)
My Pop's dad lived to 93, but his mom died at 56 or something like that. Pops died at 75. Sort of in the middle. I miss him. The anniversary is on the 17th...

You still lucky to have both Yammie. My Mother was merely 56 when she was called...I do miss her!

Yes, make the most of it...one never knows when.

I hate even to talk about it, but if my Grandma Lillian can live to the ripe young age of 108. then I guess that there is some hope for me. Not that I would really like live that long, I mean, don't get me wrong, what happens to women at that age? Bwoy, I shudder to think. Things are falling mightily right now and thankfully I have a good year left before I start crying every morning when i wake up because of the big 40. However, I guess the blessings of surviving that long are not to be overlooked.

Gladly, both Mum and Dad are still around and I know that I would be lost if one of them goes as suddenly as Brian my older brother went. Thank God I have the little, big brother Robert. I am soooo blessed because as Dr. D says you really don't know when your number is going to come up. Makes you think though, if you knew that today was your last day, what would you do differently?
