We tried to see this UK movie about a Jewish boy who befriends his Jamaican neighbours last week, but it was pouring, which made me reach home late, then the tickets were sold out.
It was part of the week of European films being shown during the Film Festival.
Well fortunately for me, they ran it again tonight, and I went with a friend who plays cricket (Princess P bailed out at the last minute over 'unforeseen' circumstances) and he enjoyed it immensely. So did I. Very hilarious.
Also very sad to see the reality of how non-English people were (are ?) treated by the English. But the Jamaican characters were really played well. I guess the lead guy - Delroy Lindo - is a Jamaican. His accent was too good for him not to be.
Posted by yamfoot at May 26, 2005 12:25 AMSo how come you never snuck in a digital video camera and post the pirated show up on the internet afterwards... I'd like to see the show too, ya know!
Posted by: Mad Bull at May 26, 2005 06:23 AMcause me dont got no digital video camera, and Ms Yamfoot was propertly brought up, so it wouldnt even have occured to her.
Being that you're living in a british department, call the british embassy and ask them to bring it down.
It was hilarious. Great theme.
Posted by: Michelle at May 26, 2005 09:40 PMWith a name like Delroy Lindo...I am pretty sure he is a yardie.
Good you enjoyed it.

Have a great weekend.
Michelle, two things:
Take the Musical Baton if you're of a mind to nuh?
Also, check the Princess from Bimshire and find out if she dash blogging away or what? Tell her that I would appreciate a little taste of her humour and ting, ok?
