Feting in Bimshire

Went to a fete at a nightclub called Baku last night.

Dem Bajans ent know nothing bout crowd control. They need to take lessons from Lisa O'gilvie of Caribbean Events Management Company. We were packed like sardines in a tin, moving inch by inch. Took us ages to get in. But when we got there, the music was good.

Now hear dis nah. It's a fete during Barbados' Crop Over Carnival. How many songs from Barbados did we hear? About 3 or 4. Jamaican Dancehall was again a huge part of the music mix (big up Yard), also hip-hop (I'm at a loss how to dance to that), and Trini soca (Destra et al).

A good time was had by all. Went to bed at 3am and got up at minutes to 8am to watch cricket. And I was duly rewarded by Shivnarine Chanderpaul getting a century). Feting in Bimshire, and feting at Lords. What a combination.

Try another nightclub and see what the music is like. I've never been to Baku, tried twice when I was there, once one of my friends didnt make the dress code and the next time it just looked rather boring to me so we didnt go in. Strange I would never have figured it for a big dancehall club but you should know that bajans probably listen to more dancehall than yardies.

The Bajan music for Crop Over this year really isn't so good, and the Festival in general this year seems real low key and got off to a slow start as far as music releases, so I'm not surprised you didn't hear much Bajan music. Also, like j did said, Bajans just love dancehall real bad.

How could I tell them gently "nO"?? so I go to the VIP gate - me and 10 guests... they give me an incredulous look and say - not guests tonight - just you, or join the line..."sigh" we stood in the line for 50 mins - but it was worth it - we were leaving way early at 3 a.m. I
