So it's 2004

Big deal!

Don't feel no different from last year. My brother says that "you really aren't supposed to feel any different; it's just the ticking of the clock". Ok, he is taking over now. Look out for many spelling errors!!!! I give you Patch....

Hi everyone...some of you know me and some - the unfortunate few - don't. I was sitting here watching Michelle pursue this seemingly bizarre exercise, and have now found myself engaged in the said exercise. Michelle knows my own views on the 'blog.....how much can one really put 'out there' about oneself and all the weird inner thoughts, perceptions and deeds that we go through each day??? Judging from her 'blog....there seems to be no limit !! But I suppose that thinking about what we do say and think forces us to become more conscious about those things and theoretically could help us to be a better person......note the use of the word "could", as it remains a theory where Mich is concerned...I did not use my favourite name for her, as perhaps some things really ought to remain family.! But anyway, consider this a guest column, probably far better written than usual :-) since the dear girl historically has viewed the English language as an opponent to be wrestled to the ground rather than a trusty friend...but I digress.

The New Year has started with us having a great breakfast together and I guess one has to be thankful about being able to start the new year on that kind of footing...embracing the most important thing we have...each other. Lots of folk don't have that privilege and for this blessing one must be grateful. For 2004, I think one of my 'revolutions' (according to the woman interviewed on TVJ last night) should be to focus on the many great blessings I have around me and appreciate them. (I suppose it must have been those blessings that were in my mind as I fled "Passa Passa" this morning after some miscreant decided to celebrate the occasion by firing shots about 4 feet in front of me....but THAT is another story for another time...!) So....to everyone out there.....peace and love for the New Year and hopefully all the goals you will set will be achieved and perhaps exceeded! Perhaps BC Lara will avoid a whitewash in South Africa....perhaps the Engand tour will be a great triumph for the Windies.....perhaps perhaps....Cheers all!!

Ok, so there you have it. He's an atty-at-law, so you understand the rambling tendency (or p'rhaps, it 'runs' in the fambily!)

Hey, Mich, I'm all for Jamaicans blogging so I suggest you get Ryan to set up a blog for your brother.
If he doesn't want to write everyday, he is welcome to become an author on my "tower of Babel" blog, which is a group blog. Check him if he's interested nuh?
If he isn't interested in keeping it up, at least get him to tell us all about the happenings at 'passa passa'.

As a person who once thought that bloggers just had too much time on their hands (sorry MB)and one who now quite enjoys her blogging experiences I think your brother should reconsider too. It is a great outlet for expressing ones joys and sorrows. Come join us at The Tower of Babel.. I don't write daily either. but we do need authors for the Tower!

Have a great 2004

Even though a few days have already gone, hope 2004 will be great, productive, healthy and generally positive for you and the "fambily".

Patrick is right...we do need to count our blessings...it will give us a new lease on life!
