Behaved like a "Gladys" as I usually do on my birthday (I firmly believe that birthdays must be treated specially) by writing on a page in my notepad "Today is my birthday" and showing it to everybody in the office. Told the Room Attendant, told the Room Service person who took my order, told the Whole Wide World.
The day was aiming to go downhill because of an incident, but I quickly rectified that and perked my spirits up.
Spirits were further perked up by a walk on the beach around sunset time to the place where I used to work. Chatted with a few employees, got treated to a drink and then walked back up the beach.....IN THE DARK!!!! Think I could ever do that in Jamdown? No shocking way. What bliss.
More bliss later at the dinner venue...remember those pictures I posted called Bel Air? Well they have a luverly restaurant right at the Water's Edge, and it's called just that...Water's Edge. Lovely atmosphere, excellent company in the form of a colleague from Trinidad, and just an allround pleasant evening.
Got 'home' before the official end of my special day, so I wouldn't turn into a pumpkin! Was I looking like a pumkin? Dunno. You'll have to ask my dinner companion wouldn't you.
Can't wait to spend a day like this again....so I won't! Anybody wants to give me their birthday so I can celebrate it for them?
Posted by yamfoot at October 23, 2003 10:22 PMMine went in September, so you would have to wait till September next year to celebrate mine for me.
Good that you enjoyed it.
